Somewhere out there, a senior leader is swallowing a quiet humiliation. After a year of reorganizations, his title is smaller, his influence thinner, his name no longer spoken with the same weight. The new boss (who once reported to him, by the way!), walks the halls with bright energy and hopeful updates. He can’t decide what stings more: the demotion itself, or the cheerfulness that seems to float above the loss.
Somewhere out there, a newly appointed executive is taking it on herself to perk up her workforce. She knows they’re feeling crushed by unrelenting uncertainty. She knows that some have even lost status along with corporate reorganizations. But certainly it’s not helpful for them to focus on those things, right? If only she can help them focus on the opportunities instead of the scars.
Consider This:
The brightest leadership is the kind that honors both possibility and pain.
